Please note that applications have now closed for this position.

We are excited to share our next opportunity to join a small agency that’s making a big impact.

A new PR account manager role is available to support our clients’ work and tell their stories in a human way.

This post explains the role, and the process for applying. First, we want to explain a little about why this role could be right for you and what impact your work could have.

Why join us?

Distinctive Communications is quite a new name on the South West’s PR scene, but our team has a track record to be proud of. We work with clients in housing, energy, education and third sectors, who strive to make a positive difference for people, places and wider society.

This isn’t just words to us: we get to the heart of our clients’ work and tell their stories and engage in a human way. In doing this, our work helps to unlock hundreds of millions of pounds in investment, create thousands of jobs and make a positive difference to many people’s lives.

Our new PR account manager will help us to build on this mission, by telling clients’ stories across paid, shared, earned and owned platforms. They’ll be key part of a small team that’s got big plans to become one of the most respected agencies of its type.

If you join us on the journey, you’ll work for a business that cares about its team and its impact. We offer a good package of benefits (see below). And as a key member of a small team, you can also have a say in how we grow in future.

What we are looking for

While a proven track record in PR and comms is important for this role, we equally value a shared passion for the work that we do and excitement for where we are heading. And we prize personal traits like integrity, emotional intelligence and transparency more than what degree you have.

Benefits - what's in the role for you?

Based in the most successful and vibrant region outside London, we are a welcoming team that’s passionate about helping our clients make a difference.

We are proud to be supporting members of the West of England’s Good Employment Charter, which recognises the positive efforts of great workplaces and help staff succeed.

Flexible working is a given for us: our team has done this before ‘hybrid’ was even a thing. Doing the job well matters more to us than where and when it’s done.

But we’ve found that relationships and learning from each other matter too. That’s why we ask colleagues to come together in Bristol at least once a week.

On benefits, we’re pleased to offer the following:

• Thirty days’ annual leave (plus bank holidays), representing one of the most generous provisions in our sector.
• Work anywhere / any time, through a flexible working hours and location policy.
• Generous discretionary and new business bonus schemes.
• Support for volunteering – five days a year can be taken for every employee to support good causes.
• Access to the company’s healthcare schemes.
• Regular team get-togethers and socials.

Finally, the salary: we’re offering between £25,000 and £35,000 for a full-time member of staff. We are happy to consider part time and reduced hours.

We also offer these to all staff, because it’s the right thing to do:

• Access to high quality co-working spaces in Bristol, Frome, Taunton and Exeter.
• Commitment to continuous learning and development as part of an individual professional development plan.
• Enhanced sickness, compassionate, maternity, paternity, and adoption leave.
• Access to the company’s healthcare and pension schemes and Employee Assistance Programme.
• A say in shaping the future direction of an ambitious business.

Open to all

We are all different and recognise that to deliver the best work for our clients, we need a diverse range of perspectives.

We believe that building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace delivers better outcomes for clients. This is why we want to encourage applications from people of different backgrounds.

We will treat all applicants equally regardless of race, gender or other status.
