What is your favourite place in the South West?

From a regeneration perspective, it’s Wapping Wharf in Bristol, or Millbay in Plymouth. For me, Wapping Wharf is perfect blend of aspirational, community-first regeneration, which champions a place’s heritage. While Millbay, really highlights powerful regeneration that can breathe new life into coastal communities. Hosting SailGP there for two years was a particular highlight, too.

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.

Back in the day I wanted to make it in the music industry. I spent most of my spare time back then in a band playing gigs up and down the country. It didn’t work out in the end, but we played with some great bands and made some of the happiest memories, so I can’t complain. Thankfully, I still play live to this day, but it’s more for fun these days.

What are your top three books to read?

  1. Stephen King – The Green Mile
  2. Lee Child – The Sentinel (any of the Jack Reacher books really!)
  3. Dean Koontz – Odd Thomas
