Distinctive makes ‘campaign of the year’ award shortlist

Awards shortlist banner for TBE AwardsAfter two years without putting ourselves forward, award listings are starting to feature the team’s work.

Much like proverbial buses, we’re on our second shortlist in a month; this time in recognition of the team’s successful public engagement work in Cheddar Gorge.

The latest shortlisting on The Business Exchange South West‘s campaign of the year comes just three weeks after TheBusinessDesk South West named us as a finalist in the ‘start -up’ category in its Business of the Year awards.

It’s great recognition of the team’s support for Mendip Hill National Landscape’s consultation on its proposals to temporarily close Cheddar Gorge to traffic.

Done on a shoestring, the proposals had potential to cause upset and needed careful handling. Using a combination of media relations, digital, online and stakeholder meetings, our consultation
generated more than 1,700 responses and drew praise from national bodies.

Award judge praises approach

We’re particularly proud of the judge’s comments on the three shortlisted entries, which perfectly summed up what we strive for when supporting clients.

Mirabelle Stobbs, The Workshed, said: “From a highly competitive and varied field of award applicants, we are delighted with the quality of campaigns across the category and are particularly impressed with the three finalists.

“The subject matter and purpose of the campaigns varied immensely. Each of the finalists demonstrated a sensitivity and understanding of the needs of both the audiences to be reached and the client’s aims and outputs for their campaigns.

“Amongst a strong field of entries, these three really stood out for their positive intentions and influence on their target audiences.”

Great end to a successful month

The news caps another successful few weeks for the team. In just the last fortnight, we’ve supported a major deal announcement, launched a consultation in Somerset, prepared to move offices and expanded the team.

Even when busy, we feel it’s important to take time to promote and celebrate our success. Congratulations to all on the shortlist, including our amazing client Nine Feet Tall.
