Awards shortlisting for Distinctive crew
Life in a small, growing business has some big moments. We’re delighted to share a ‘first’ for us, and hopefully not the last.
News broke today that we’re on the shortlist for TheBusinessDesk’s South West Business of the Year awards. Distinctive is in the start-up category alongside some very strong businesses.
It’s a great boost for the team and strong endorsement of the journey we’re on. It’s also humbling to feature alongside some fantastic businesses who are all doing great things.
Making time (and effort) for awards
Since setting up in 2022, we wanted to follow our advice to clients and be good at our own PR. But to enter awards you need a track record to shout about first.
As we navigated our second year and built our client list, the track record became a bigger part of our story.
Entering awards provides an opportunity for reflection, about our journey, our work and the clients the team supports.
In the last year, the team led design projects for cultural destinations, PR and social media campaigns for huge regeneration projects and consultations that national experts highlighted as exemplars. This happened as we grew our presence in Exeter, landed brilliant new clients and found time to move offices.
And we supported causes close to our hearts committing more than 10 days of volunteer leave
across the team.
So, yes, it’s worth finding the time to put ourselves forward. And it’s even better to see it land well!
Massive thanks to clients for putting their trust in us, and the team for supporting each other so brilliantly.
